Alright. Here we go again. Japan is in crisis.
Now here we are, a day afterwards, and all the major websites already have links on their home pages to donate money to the "people."
We have enough people right here in America that, due to political climates and corporate greed, have lost their jobs and are unemployed or under employed. Our own government has created the perfect storm to send middle class into poverty.
ANY American inclined to donate money should give locally. There are tons of charity services that will gladly process cash gifts, with an acceptable receipt for tax write offs, that we can make a difference right here.
Shy away from any major charity or organization. Cash gifts are filtered through salaries and administration fees to pay executives. The money never really reaches the intended recipient.
I don't wish anyone harm or ill will, but where was Haiti when Katrina hit? What has Japan done to help us clean up from the mess when our government destroyed the Trade Center in NYC? What has Ethiopia or any other country that so completely depends on us EVER done to promote our citizens or way of life?
They all gladly show up with their hand out when something happens, because it's been America's responsibility for the last 200 years to clean up every single mess anyone else creates. Well, we have issues here that need to be straightened out, and anyone who focuses money, time, attention, or other resources elsewhere is no friend to this country, and no friend to me.
